Atlanta is the capital of Georgia and the seat of Fulton County. A sprawling southern metropolis, Atlanta's skyline is a mixture of modern and postmodern buildings, punctuated by impressive skyscrapers. There is no true city center, as numerous commercial and business centers have sprung up throughout the city. This urban sprawl is a result of unprecedented economic and growth over the past decade. Atlanta prides itself on being one of the driving forces of the "New South."

The Atlanta area is full of attractions for all ages. Rising from ashes after its Civil War-era torching, this vibrant Peach State capital gracefully blends cosmopolitan sophistication, high energy, and traditional southern hospitality. Cultural and recreational attractions are as diverse as the economy with Braves baseball, Falcons football, and Hawks basketball serving as significant rallying points. Cultural cache is embellished by entities from the Atlanta Symphony to the Atlanta Ballet, the nationís oldest continuously operating ballet company. With annual visitor counts exceeding 17 million from points of origin worldwide, Atlantaís bounty of world-class attractions, restaurants and activities stands ready with a warm antebellum-style welcome.
Atlanta is an enormous and sprawling city, and is constantly expanding, with no real barriers to prevent it from continuing to grow indefinitely. Located in the state of Georgia, Atlanta is known throughout the world for being a major business city, although it is also home to many superb tourist attractions.

The city of Atlanta enjoys a mild climate throughout the year and is the perfect holiday destination. Atlanta has four distinct seasons, and a temperate climate. Winters are very cold with temperatures below freezing for much of the time, but the daytime weather is mild enough to sit outdoors, with only an occasional snowfall. Summers, by contrast, can be hot and humid with heat wave spells lasting days at a time. Average temperatures for summer show up as fairly low, however, but this is somewhat misleading. Atlanta receives abundant rainfall, which is evenly distributed throughout the year.
